Fatemah Alharbi is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Taibah University, Yanbu, a part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Cybersecurity and Forensic Computing at Prince Mugrin University. She was recently appointed as the Global Ambassador for Saudi Arabia at the Global Council for Responsible AI at the UK House of Lords. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside (UCR).
Prof. Alharbi has been recognized as a Top Cybersecurity Woman of the World by United Cybersecurity Alliance in 2024 and is honored with multiple awards and recognitions, including:
- Excellence Women Award by Creative Women Platform in 2024
- Top International 40 Under 40 in Cybersecurity Award by Cyber Security Global Alliance in 2024
- Selected as one of the most prominent figures in Madinah for 2024
- Selected as one of the 15 remarkable Arab Female Scientists by AboutHer

Prof. Alharbi is also a cybersecurity consultant and researcher with expertise in cyberattacks, applied cryptography, Internet of Things (IoT), system and network measurements, and analysis. She also works on multidisciplinary projects that leverage AI and integrate it with revolutionary technologies. Throughout her career, she has contributed to numerous research projects published in prestigious conferences (such as USENIX, CCS, and INFOCOM) and journals (such as IEEE TDSC). She gained public attention for presenting a cyberattack on the DNS infrastructure that targeted Apple macOS, Linux Ubuntu, and Microsoft Windows.
Prof. Alharbi is leading several initiatives, including:
- An AI-powered IoT firewall.
- A responsible AI project for emergency rooms (ER).
- The Research Triangle Initiative (RTI), an undergraduate research program in AI and cybersecurity in collaboration with the University of California, Irvine (UCI), King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and Taibah University.
- Ongoing research on assessing DNS resilience and robustness in Saudi Arabia.
Her dedication to research, education, and empowerment in cybersecurity has positioned her as one of the leading figures in the field, both locally and globally.
